Monkey Tennis Pres. Joshua Heath (USA)
That's right, be prepared for 9 hours of outdoor madness with your closest friends in the city amid the skyscraper and the stars as we present.. Monkey Tennis - 'Hot In The City' with special international guest, Joshua Heath.

Joshua Heath was born with music in his blood. Joshuas talent flourished at a young age. He played several instruments early on, but the Bass quickly became his love and focus. Highly competitive throughout high school, Joshua played in every group possible, covering several genres, even touring Japan in the Monterey Jazz Festival All-Star High School Big Band and went on to complete his Masters degree in Jazz Studies at USC.

During this time, Joshua found a new love in electronic music and began to DJ locally. As his favorite experience at USC was composing for the big band and hearing his work come to life, he naturally began producing his own music. His first proper house track entitled 'You Wanna Dance?' was picked up by Grab Recordings in the summer of 2005. Soon after it was released in February 2006, it became a favorite of world renowned dj/producer Miguel Migs. Miguel liked "that combo of funk, soul, bump and grit to rock the dancefloor" so much, that he signed Joshua's second release to his label, Salted Music, where Joshua quickly became a dynamic part of the Salted family.
Josh's Coldcuts Ep became a staple in record bags worldwide soon after its release in december 06'. He quickly followed up with the 'Funky like a Foot Ep' on DAE Recordings, which hit the streets of WMC 07' with a fury & 'Casafiesta' was dubbed one of the tracks of the conference. Josh's 2nd Salted release, the 'Turnin Tables EP' smashed up the house charts, and title track My Headphones became 1 in the Traxsource.com Best of 07 Jackin category. Joshua and Troydons collaborative project Quality Control took the 4 spot on that same list with a release on Drop Music.

2008 saw Joshua visit Europe and South America as well as the 1 spot on Stompy's Top 100 a few times; release several hot remixes & singles; sign music to HBO's smash hit 'ENTOURAGE'; and finally, close out the year with a Massive third release on Salted Music: The Writers Block Ep.

2009 has seen Joshua complete a successful world tour from London to Holland to Dubai, & release his first solo project on Drop Music: the Dirty 30 Ep. As a DJ, Joshua is a resident at LAs most prominent house night: Balance at club King King. He plays with the likes of Heather, Fred Everything, LCG, Farina and Miguel Migs. His musicality shines in the studio and behind the decks. Joshua loves nothing more than sharing the love and energy of each musical journey with an audience, and gratefully looks forward to each journey ahead.

Monkey Tennis 7th Birthday Winter Ball
Hello Possums

After a 6 month hiatus in the Tennis Wilderness we're back this June 13th with our 7th Birthday Winter Ball. It's seems a long time since we threw our first party at The Circa Bar in 2002. Since then we've spent most of the time staying over sleeping on the sofa at Candy's Apartment and then on to The Cross. In that time we've rubbed shoulders with some of the worlds best deep house international DJ's/producers, knocked up with Australias finest and had many a laugh. So for no particular reason we've decided to do something a bit different. In a departure from our usual nocturnal activities, we thought we'd mark the occasion with an outdoor day party.

Like when Federer and Agassi played each other on top of The Burj Al Arab, this June Monkey Tennis we will be nestled halfway up among the skyscrapers on the rooftop terrace of The Blacket Hotel. For those who have not been up there, this is a fantastic intimate space with a breathtaking aspect of the city and a perfect view of the stars. As we're approaching winter, there are countless heaters, and sliding roof should it rain. Fortunately Cliff Richards has been banned for life after being caught in a compromising position in the mens toilets by security last year. Play kicks off at 1pm and the last ball will be served at 11pm. There's only one rule...anyone who hits a ball over the side will have to get it themselves.

So, helping us annoy those that choose to do a bit of overtime in the office on a Saturday will be some of the local talent which have helped us rock Centre Court and Court One over the years:-

We missed her at The Cross, but we're delighted to welcome back MT songbird Kyla Sexton to help us blow out the candles.

Due to the capacity of the terrace (140), this is going to be an all ticket event. Early bird tix are now on sale at (Moshtix Link) at $30 plus booking fee, so get in quick and secure your place in the competition.

After Party

If you're still good after 5 sets, we'll be holding the after party at the newly refurbished Lady Lux. Currently closed for 6 weeks for renovation, the club will look completely different. Apart from a fantastic face lift, they're also dropping a Funktion 1 sound system under the hood. Those with a Monkey Tennis stamp will get in for $10 dollars. Unfortunately we can't guarantee entry (if it's full, it's full), but hopefully due to the finish time everyone should be fine.

So get your racket restrung, dust off your Dunlops and come and help us celebrate 7 years of Monkey Tennis this June 13th.

Monkey Tennis Pres. Andy Riley - Inland Knights
Hello Peeps,

After a well earned break in March, we're back on the scene like...a sex machine, a washing machine... or a coffee machine. Either way, we return this April with one of the true legends of the deep house scene; one half of the Inland Knights, Mr Toka Project and co-founder of famed imprint Drop Music... Andy Riley.

Laurence Ritchie and Andy Riley met in 1993 through their involvement Dj’ing with the legendary UK free party crew - Smokescreen Sound System which threw large-scale events at various locations across the English countryside. Utilizing rotating, secret venues, Smokescreen attempted to keep their renegade parties as underground as possible to avoid detection by local police - a feat they managed to accomplish on a regular basis.
By 1998, Laurence moved to Nottingham and joined the Toka Project studio and began to put together the Drop Music label whilst producing closely with Riley, who was already involved with Toka Project. Inland knights Volume 1 marked the launch of Drop Music in 1998.

The Drop Music catalogue now has 56 releases to its credit, and is renowned in the dance music community for the quality and consistency of its work. Adopting various guises to showcase different aspects of their sound, including Party Criminals, In House Alterations, Grand Theft Audio and Big Audio Spidermite, Toka project, Larry fives, Inland Knights have been responsible for most of the Drop catalogue. As enthusiastic about DJ’ing as studio production, Ritchie and Riley have maintained a relentless international touring agenda since their collaboration began. Under the Inland Knights moniker, the pair have been busy, releasing tracks on labels such as Ralph Lawson’s 20:20 Vision imprint, Panhandle Records, Vista, Siesta, Sunflower, NRK, Low Pressings, the classic ’hot soup’ on So Sound, Doubledown and many more.

As the driving force behind Toka Project, Andy has had numerous releases on labels such as So Sound, Drop, Bambino, Mobile Trax, Flavor, Agave and Amenti.

In 2007, to mark the 50th Drop Music release, Inland Knights released a two part ep package to widespread acclaim, with 50 pt One becoming an instant rarity and much sought after, and part 2 Becoming another a drop classic. 2007 also saw the launch of Raise, Drops sister label.

Into 2008, and the Inland Knights are busy in the studio with remixes, ep’s and compilations, as well as regular DJ slots at the weekend. Despite their success as producers, and over nine years of releases under their belts, they refuse to withdraw into the studio and will continue to DJ and tour extensively. Riley notes they are always looking to balance their performance and production schedules. "If you start to do too much of one," he says, "You start to miss the other."

This April sees Andy Riley make his second appearance after being the first internationals (alongside Laurence) to grace the Monkey Tennis Centre Court back in March 06.

Joining Andy will be deep house impresario Jools, alongside debutant Matt Mandell, Monkey Tennis boys Lummy and Broadband and MT songbird Kyla Sexton.

Funky Tennis this month sees resident Pete Dot with guests.

After a month off due to Playground, it’s time to get involved again, so if absence makes the heart grow fonder, and a blend of jazz and funk, dynamic percussion and vocal hooks gets you in a fizz, get yourself courtside this April 12th to witness a true innovator in the deep house scene.

The Monkey Tennis Boys

Monkey Tennis Pres. Fred Everything and John Larner
We return this month for what promises to be a massive night as we play host to another 2 huge internationals. We are extremely excited to be knocking up with none other than Fred Everything and John Larner.

Frederic Blais, aka Fred Everything is nothing short of a house music legend. Based in Montreal, Canada, he has been involved in electronic music and parties for more than 10 years now. Fred has consistently produced a stream of quality underground house cuts, whilst earning himself praise for his precise, dynamic and energetic djing style. Resident at Vira la Derencha at the Jingxi club in Montreal and a regular guest at Angel Moraes’ Stereo, Fred’s vision takes in latin, disco and funk influences.
Often mentioned in the same breath as Derrick Carter, Miguel Migs, Mark Farina and many other acolytes of the quality house music scene, Fred regularly tours all over the world displaying his dynamic dj style. At such a young age Fred is a mainstay on the dj circuit and has appeared at house havens such as Home, Fabric, Ministry of Sound, The Rex Club (Paris) and Back To Basics in Leeds.
With the release of his debut album on 2020 Vision, Fred produces a seamless blend of home listening tracks and punchier, club-bound cuts. The album was licensed to Intonation Records (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and Turbo Recordings in his home town of Montreal to great success.
As a producer, Fred has earned the right to be hailed as one of the most innovative of his time, by virtue of the fact of his unique approach to drum programming. Consequently, Fred is now in demand as a remixer and has recorded versions of tracks by Derrick Carter & Chris Nazuka (Bombay Records), Jaffa (Stereo Deluxe) and Random Factor (2020).20:20 Vision Head honcho Ralph Lawson considers him to be one of the best house DJ’s on the planet.

John Larner was a child of the Chicago and Detroit dance music scene. Raised on a healthy diet of electronic music and dance, he was educated by the founding fathers of modern dance music, and fortunate enough to grow up in a time and area where Jeff Mills and Steve "Silk" Hurley could be heard on the radio. Supported by a father who himself loved Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, jazz-fusion and the sounds that helped shape electronica as we know it, made it possible for John to make music his life’s work. From djing, to production, to promoting club nights and one-offs, for the past twenty years, John Larner made dance music his life, all the while influencing people all around him. Spreading the word, the feeling and the love for dance music.
John’s production success and DJ talent have seen him in demand in clubs around the globe. Widely known for his high-octane sets, which incorporate a balanced mix of fresh cuts and the old sounds of Chicago and Detroit.
Long time time friends with previous MT guest Slater Hogan, their creative output has blossomed into a hybrid of swing, jazz, hip-hop, techno and classic house sounds.
In 2001 John, Slater and Shawn Collins founded Muzique Boutique Recordings as a vehicle to present their sound to the world. Packaged in a colourful, kitsch sleeve picturing a martini glass, it’s an ironic nod to the swing and jazz history of the area. With acclaimed releases from Jonene & Tony Senghore, Hakan Lidbo, Lance De Sardi, The Littlemen and Stacy Kidd, the label is a consistent performer. Muzique Boutique releases have found their way into the record boxes of Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Inland Knights, Heather and DJ Sneak.

"I like making people happy, I love seeing people smile, dance, jump around or just sit and nod their head to the music. I love sharing what makes me happy with others." - John Larner

This promises to be one of out biggest night yet, so get yourself down to Monkey Tennis and 'Love All'.

We're excited for saturday!

Monkey Tennis Pres DJ Mes and Jay West
Thanks to the guests and all that came down to MT last month. An unbelievable crowd and fantastic music all night long. We return to international duty in style this month as we invite two of the scene's hottest names down to Centre Court. Prey silence for DJ Mes and Jay West.

DJ Mes

Jason Sutton aka DJ Mes has been involved with the house music scene since 1993. While growing up in the San Francisco Bay area, his musical passion was fueled by soul, funk, and disco of the seventies, as well as eighties electro, hip-hop, and jazz. Drawing on the influences of friends Tony (Tango Records) and DJ Dan (Funky Techno Tribe) and Rob Drake (THC), Mes found a way to meld all of his early musical influences into a deep, yet driving and funky sound that allowed him to gain quick recognition in the house music scene. After Djing and overseeing label releases on Daddy Recordings, the next logical step was to produce his own music. It is the passion for creating the music he fell in love with that has allowed him to have multiple releases out on labels such as BlackCherry, AJ, Safe in Sound, DAE, Big Popsicle, MVM, Public Access, Sunny Day, and GoodFamily.

Along with Mes's well known skills as a dj and producer, he also handles the day to day responsibilities for his own record label "Guesthouse Music", one of the top labels in the burgeoning new school of underground, forward-thinking house music movements in the United States. Started by Mes in early 2005, the label already boast releases from The Sound Republic, Special Interest, Pushing Boundaries, John Larner, DJ Homewrecker and Australia’s very own Ricardo Rae and Glen Coates. Whether Mes is producing or DJing it is his never ending energy and drive to put his signature on the dance music community that makes him a talent not to be missed. See him make his Australian debut at Monkey Tennis.

Jay West

Born in Rosario, Argentina, Pablo (Jay West) was attracted at an early age by the sounds coming from the west coast of America, where Chicago house was starting to fuse with different rhythmic currents at the end of the 90’s. he developed a unique and particular style making himself heard as a dj and quickly earning a spot in the ever growing local and international scene. Always considered a songwriter overall, his career inside the studio has rocketed fast. His solid productions receive constant support and props from a great variety renowned djs like Mark Farina, Hernán Cattaneo, Inland Knights, Satoshie Tomiie, Dj Heather, Johnny Fiasco, Hipp-e, Jason Hodges, Jacob London, Fred Everything and many more. His productions have found themselves on to prestigious imprints such as Drop Music, Agarve, Lowdown, Blockhead and Guesthouse. He has also remixed the likes of Shawn Ward, Sound Navigators, Troydon, Joshua Heath, Matt Shrewd, Joshua Reynolds, Samuel L etc and in turn he has had his work remixed by Hipp-e, Greenskeepers, Patrick Turner, Swirl People and Bryan Jones amongst others. He has worked side to side with talented artists, always searching for originality and variety, teaming up with Matt Shrewd as ‘Pushin Boundaries’, and Diego Cid, Manuel Sahagún or CPM as The Candy Dealers.

In 2006 he decided to take a step forward and started his own label Flavor Recordings, based in UK with his partner Matt Shrewd. Flavor´s first couple releases have made the label already one of the scene´s favourites with offerings from Da Sunlounge, Inland Knights, Toka Project, The Littlemen and Kinky Movement. This will be Jay’s first Australian tour, so come and see why he’s become such an underground household name.

Local support this months sees Matt Roberts knock up against Monkey Tennis Boys Lummy and Broadband, while MT songbird Kyla Sexton makes the tough calls on the mic.

Funky Tennis this month sees resident Pete Dot line up against debutants Joe Stanley and Bobby.

So get yourself down to Monkey Tennis this August 11th and get a mullet up ya.
Monkey Tennis Xmas Party With James Curd (Greenskeepers) and Slater Hogan
Hullo Children

Firstly thanks to everyone who came down last month to the Raoul show. The man is nothing short of a legend. A privilege to be treated to 3 hours of freshest upfront tracks combined with such energy behind the decks. Easy to understand why he’s earned the respect of his peers, frequently referred to as the DJ's DJ. Thanks also to Ronnie Finx for the smoothest possible start to the night (this man deserves more gigs), Illya for never letting up, and to Kyla for her lush vocals. Thanks also to Pete Dot who literally lost half his body weight during his marathon 5 hour set in the back room. Hats off to all involved.

So another year passes by. Far too quickly for our liking, but that is a surefire sign that we’ve had fun (or just getting old). It’s been another fantastic year on the Monkey Tennis circuit, having played host to some of the world best house DJ’s. MT’s 2007 Hall Of Fame includes:- Slater Hogan, The Littlemen, Bryan Jones, Jacob London, Dj Mes, Jay West, Fred Everything, John Larner and Raoul Belmans.

And so to our Christmas Party. To celebrate the past 12 months, we see out the year in the best possible fashion as we play host to the pioneer of The GreensKeepers, James Curd, and Slater Hogan.

James Curd

James Curd started spinning at loft parties and raves in Chicago at the ripe old age of fifteen. By nineteen, he had already established himself as a premiere DJ in the Chicago club scene and surrounding cities. By twenty, he was guest-DJing at Chicago’s best dance clubs, and holding down residencies alongside Derrick Carter, Diz and Gene Ferris. That same year, James began producing tracks and scored his first record deal with French recording label BNO. Soon after James began working with Derricks label Classic and released the record “What’s Your Man Got To Do With Gan?” and branded his own style of Chicago swing house.

At about this time, James's love of music pulled him into the strange and wonderful world of music production. He wasted no time and had his first record deal with the French recording label BNO within his first year. With him to celebrate his success was long time skateboard friend, Nick Maurer. It was 1998 and Nick had just moved back into town after working for a year in Southern Germany as (you guessed it) a greens keeper. What James forgot was that Nick was a talented guitarist, pianist and drummer who (after his year overseas with crazy techno blasting his ears) developed a taste for electronic music. They decided to join forces to see if their two unique perspectives on music creation could spawn something great. With James's studio equipment and Nick's old Ibanez, they were able to lay the foundation for a project that blossomed into what is Greens Keepers today.

The Greenskeepers consists of James Curd, the electro-percussionist, maestro Mark Share, vocalist Nick Maurer, and bassist Coban Rudish. All are fine musicians, humans even, but in the greater order, they are mere mortals. Together, they are the Greenskeepers—a band of brothers and an ordinance of auditory assault. Chicago’s Greenskeepers have been called abstract, quirky, avant-garde, irresistible and bizarre. Polo Club, the compilation of the Keepers Green’s latest work, marks an unforeseen level of musical progression and a testament to the power of four. It is the culmination of two years of touring the world --from Istanbul to LA-- as a cohesive unit. The end result is a double disc collection of songs that perfectly captures the insane genius of the Greenskeepers.

This December sees the founder of the Greenskeepers, James Curd make his debut on Centre Court at Monkey Tennis

See http://www.myspace.com/jamescurd

Slater Hogan

He started 2007 for us, and now he’ll end 2007 for us. After a blistering journey along the techier side of house in Jan this year, Slater Hogan returns to Centre Court to see the year out.

Slater hails from Indianapolis, and has created a sound which is very much his home, yet DJ and dancers around the world are all moving to his beat. Slater collaborated with John Larner. They have used their own musical geography to create a rare and intelligent sound. With swing, jazz, hip-hop, techno, classic house and French disco all creeping into the mix, this recipe has seen them serve up numerous releases in the last three years, many becoming modern classics. “Caught Up” on Hip Therapist reached the decks of Pete Tong on BBC Radio One. His music has graced the world best deep house labels. Icon, Odds and Ends, Nightshift, Tango and Headset have all joined the party; many more will follow.

Slater's sounds are bouncy, tech-edged and fun, brimming with the sounds of Chicago, St Louis and Indianapolis. Using four decks at times, a Slater Hogan DJ set is as much a musical document, as it is unadulterated disco-funk. Check out his place in space at http://www.myspace.com/slaterhogan

Local support arrives at the net in the shape of Synik, Monkey Tennis Boys Lummy and Broadband, and the ever present Kyla on vocals.

Sipping port around the piano in the back room for Funky Tennis will be MT’s resident funkateer Pete Dot, alongside Mo'Funk and one other we are yet to announce.

Good tiding we bring, so get yourself down Monkey Tennis Office Christmas Party, and have a clinch in the stationary cupboard.

The Monkey Tennis Boys
Monkey Tennis Pres. Raoul Belmans (Swirl People)
Take a love for electric boogie music, an appreciation for black culture, an admiration for snares, palpitating bass lines and seducing vocals and what do you get? A consummate dish of tantalising house music, Belgian-style, served delightfully by Raoul Belmans.

Raoul started DJ’ing in 1991 in his hometown of Leuven, the reassuringly expensive home of Stella Artois. In 1996, Raoul’s DJ career stepped into the next level when he was offered a residency at “Food”, Belgium’s premium house night which saw numerous star DJ’s come from all over the world to join him, including Derrick Carter, Kenny Hawkes and DJ Sneak, all of whom count in Food as one of their favourite clubs worldwide.

For more than 8 years now, Raoul has been very busy producing and remixing tracks. Over the years his releases have appeared on labels such as Global Cuts, Panhandle, Lowdown Music, Amenti, Tango and Odds & Ends under different monikers such as Swirl People, Swirl Peepz, Cosy Creatures, Different Noodles and Tiger Sprouts. On a remix level Raoul has reworked tunes from Derrick Carter, Fred Everything, Alexander East, JT Donaldson amongst others.

As his DJ career exacerbated, Raoul moved into producing forming Swirl People with fellow mastermind Dimitri Dewever. The debut Swirl People album, titled "Hi mom, let's dance" was released on the Scottish label Solemusic, hosting artists such as DJ Spinna, Phil Asher, Basement Jaxx, and Milton Jackson and was highly praised by the U.K. press.

The highly anticipated follow-up album "Special Combo" in 2004, featured the two already highly rotated singles "Lideloo dow dow" and "We used to party" featuring Chi-town DJ Heather on vocals.

In April 07, Raoul and Dmitri presented the next addition to the dynasty with the fantastic Swirl It Up.

Nowadays, Raoul extensively tours worldwide, with a loyal following in tow and an ever-expanding repertoire of house heads, playing for crowds with an insatiable appetite for upfront tracks, deck mastery and a technical ingenuity possessed only by an elite few.

In 1998 Raoul started the acclaimed label, Aroma, which can be now be classed with labels such as Classic, Lowdown, Amenti, Tango, OAE and many more with its roster containing releases by Swirl People, Lance De Sardi, JT Donaldson, Alexander East, Olivier Desmet, East Coast Boogiemen, Spettro, Miles Maeda, Justin Long, John Larner & Slater Hogan, Lawnchair Generals with remixes from Miguel Migs, Inland Knights, Mazi, Ivan Smagghe, Lawnchair Generals and Rob Mello.

Widely regarded as the DJ’s DJ, Raoul makes his way down under to make his second appearance on Centre Court at Monkey Tennis.

Local support arrives at the net in the shape of Lamanex, Ronnie Finx, Lummy and Broadband and Klya Sexton.

Funky Tennis this month sees the long awaited return of Danny Bass, Uncle Ru and Pete Dot.

Monkey Tennis Presents Jacob London
Bob Hansen and Dave Pezzner met in 1992. The U.S. economy was looking up, and naturally Bob and Dave began to create relatively awful industrial compositions that they were not allowed to perform in their high-school's student talent competition. Taking the rejection in stride, they continued on until exposure to rave mega-anthems such as L.A. Style's "James Brown is Dead" and Church of Extacy's "Ooowee I Am Ready" caught their interest and inspired them to begin creating lo-fi rave mega-anthems of their own that were slightly (and increasingly) less awful than what they had been doing up until that point.

For years they immersed themselves in refining their sound and performing live PA's under a name that you don't really need, or want, to know about. By the time important people were busy convincing the World's population that it was "1998", Bob and Dave had taken the opportunity to release their first record ("Hydrogenated Funk") on Carlos DaSilva's upstart eatHouse label, along with forging a new identity for themselves as Jacob London. This record garnered them a moderate amount of attention from DJ Sneak and others, which they proceeded to not capitalize on for another 3 years or so.

In "2001" (for lack of a better term), the duo entered into a short-lived and well-respected business relationship with Jon Lemmon's Viva Recordings and were foolishly given free reign over their own record label, which they dubbed squid:records. They released three Jacob London EP's over the following two years and pulled in two of their long-time house music heroes, Carl Finlow (aka Random Factor) and Tony Senghore, for remix duties. The squid releases were well-received and the unique sense of humor and personality that Bob and Dave saturated each of their productions with caught on and led to releases on Free the Funk, Stay True, Doubledown, U-Freqs, and Derrick Carter & Luke Solomon's enormously popular Classic label.

Recently, Jacob London have been neglecting important areas of their personal lives (hygiene not included) with a steady flow of remix offers and international gigging, including Toronto, Japan, the UK, Vancouver BC, and Cleveland.

Local support wonders out of the dressing room in the shape Lummy, Gary Broadband, Stu Kelly, Mr Ploppy and Jim Smiff.

Funky Tennis this month sees the long awaited return of Glen Coates, alongside debutant Matt Trousdale and veteran Pete Dot.

So get yourself down to Monkey Tennis this month and 'Love All'

Monkey Tennis Turns 5 With Bryan Jones
That's right. We've graduated from nappies, strollers and rusks to three wheeler bicycles and eating worms. (we're slow starters). This May we celebrate 5 fun filled years on the Junior Monkey Tennis Circuit. To celebrate we've invited the man of the moment, Chicago's house guru Bryan Jones.

Bryan Jones is currently one of Chicago's busiest and highest selling house producers releasing over 100 of his songs on labels all over the world dating back to 2002. His songs have been played by the biggest djs in the world such as Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Joey Youngman, DJ Heather, Felix The Housecat and many, many more. His songs have also been licensed to Ministry Of Sound, Playboy, OM Records, Hypnotiq liquor company, and others.

Bryan’s remix of Kaskade’s song “Stars Align” just came out on America’s biggest dance label, Ultra Records. The song is from Kaskade’s newest full length album, “Love Mysterious”. Bryan's currently in the studio doing remixes for Blondie, Barbara Tucker, Mark Grant and Kid Creme, amongst others. He’s even remixing a song by a vocalist that has a song out with Kanye West and won Chicago Idol (Russoul).

Bryan stays busy running his two labels Control and Ringside and is most recently known for his 2006 hit single "Chicago Jack" which was licensed to OM Records multiple times on cd and vinyl and will be coming out again with remixes in 2007. In the last year Bryan has also been on a heavy touring schedule by playing gigs in Australia, Russia, Bulgaria, Belgium, Canada, and the Netherlands.

This Australian Tour celebrates his debut full length cd album 'Step Back' on legendary New York house label, i! records. Bryan already has stops lined up for Mexico, South Africa, and Canada.

Bryan’s dj mixes have been heard by hundreds of thousands of people through his diligence in online promotions and years of gigging. This explains why many people consider Bryan to be one of their favorite djs while at the same time being one of their favorite producers. Watch for plenty of releases on vinyl, mp3, and cd this year from Bryan.

Hello Peeps,

Thanks to all who came down to see The Littlemen last month and also to those battle weary hedonists who made it to the superb Playground Weekender to see Da Sunlounge, Lamanex and the MT old faithful.

We return to the hallowed courts of Candy's Apartment this Saturday as we play host to Da Sunlounge for a second time. Simon joined us exactly a year ago when he accompanied The Inland Knights.

Simon Newby (aka Da Sunlounge) began DJ’ing in and around the Midlands deep house scene 12 years ago. In the early days he was resident of the much-respected night ‘Travelling Without Moving’, playing alongside DJ’s such as Terry Francis, Inland Knights, Peace Division, Andy Wetherall, Digs’n’Woosh and Diesel. It was at this night, he played a dub plate of one of his first production’s. Clive Henry of Peace Division heard it and immediately signed it to his label, Low Pressings.

Simon has been producing deep house music for over 8 years, with releases to date on some of the most recognised international label’s within the industry, including Low Pressings UK; Tango Recordings USA; Detour USA; Camouflage Rec’s CANADA; Ri’que JAPAN; Amenti/Developed Music USA; DoubleDown USA; Good Family Rec’s USA; Freaked Records UK; DAE Recordings USA; So Sound USA; Uniform USA and of course his own label’s Myna Music and Bambino Recordings (launched Dec’05) Myna has reached it’s 31st release and is regarded as a leading underground label and receives continuous support from some of the world’s most renowned DJ’s such as Laurent Garnier, Nic Fantiulli, Ian Pooley, Miguel Migs, Silicone Soul, Swirl People, Lawnchair Generals, Ashley Beadle, Inland Knights, David Duriez and Mazi among many others.

Many of his productions have been licensed to various compilation mix CD’s such as…H-Foundation’s ‘Nite:Life’ mix for NRK; Peace Division’s ‘Nite:Life’ mix for NRK; Jon Marsh mix for Fabric; Inland Knights ‘Family Duals’ mix for NRK and the MIXMAG cover CD ‘Tribal Sessions’ mixed by Greg Vickers.

His busy DJ schedule continues to take him around the world. Past gig’s have taken him to the USA, Australia, Malaysia, Brazil, Serbia, Spain, Czech Rep., Lithuania, Slovakia, Poland, Latvia, Berlin, Belgium, Norway, Sweden and the UK. Ranging from backrooms & bars, to clubs with a capacity of over 1000 people. Then of course, there’s playing in the middle of a field in the Midland’s countryside to free party goers!!!

Joining Da Sunlounge will be debutant K-Matik, Lummy and Broadband and the faithful and fabulous Kyla Sexton on Vocals.

Funky Tennis this month sees the return of Danny Monk. He's joined by debutant and long time friends of The Littlemen, Matt Ringrose.

6.5 Grand Raised For The Tsunami Appeal
Monkey Tennis Asia Tsunami Appeal – Thank you! We’re delighted to announce that an incredible six and a half thousand dollars was raised on the door for the Australian Red Cross appeal, which will focus on the provision of safe water, sanitation systems, food and non-food relief items, and emergency and longer-term health needs. The appeal aims to bring immediate relief and longer term support to those affected by the disaster in so many different countries in Asia. This money, combined with the donations in the Red Cross tins, when matched by the third party company, will tip 14 thousand dollars.

We would like to thank everyone involved in making it such a great night. Hats off to Danny Bass and The Samba Sound System, Spitchen, Tazman, Woodsy, Simon Ramsey, Hex, Kyla Sexton, Jackster, Graham Cordery, Mel Moore and Jenson. Thanks also to Doris, Ducky, Nicky Cassidy, Veebha, Nathan Azouz and Strathfield, DMC and Candy’s Apartment. Lastly, many thanks to everyone who came down to make it such a great night. I doubt you would find a more friendly and generous crowd anywhere. On top of the door takings, the donation tins were very heavy. I’m sure everyone agrees, there probably isn’t a more important and critical cause, and the money will be well spent.

Well be back in February resuming normal operations, so until then dig deep and stay safe.
Slater Hogan (USA) - 13th January
Happy New Year to one and all. We hope you had a good Christmas and Santa got you what you asked for. Well it is fair to say 2006 has been our best year yet on the Junior Monkey Tennis Circuit. Little did we know that when we threw a little party for friends back in 2002 we'd be hosting the likes of The Inland Knights, Da Sunlounge, Lawnchair Generals, Bryan Jones and Raoul. We hope you've enjoyed the guest slots as much as we have. As we say goodbye to a cracking 2006 on Centre Court, we say hello to 2007 by carrying on in the same vain. We see the new year in style this month as we invite Slater Hogan (Muzique Boutique) to grace the hallowed Centre Court.
