Monkey Tennis Pres. Joshua Heath (USA)
That's right, be prepared for 9 hours of outdoor madness with your closest friends in the city amid the skyscraper and the stars as we present.. Monkey Tennis - 'Hot In The City' with special international guest, Joshua Heath.
Joshua Heath was born with music in his blood. Joshuas talent flourished at a young age. He played several instruments early on, but the Bass quickly became his love and focus. Highly competitive throughout high school, Joshua played in every group possible, covering several genres, even touring Japan in the Monterey Jazz Festival All-Star High School Big Band and went on to complete his Masters degree in Jazz Studies at USC.
During this time, Joshua found a new love in electronic music and began to DJ locally. As his favorite experience at USC was composing for the big band and hearing his work come to life, he naturally began producing his own music. His first proper house track entitled 'You Wanna Dance?' was picked up by Grab Recordings in the summer of 2005. Soon after it was released in February 2006, it became a favorite of world renowned dj/producer Miguel Migs. Miguel liked "that combo of funk, soul, bump and grit to rock the dancefloor" so much, that he signed Joshua's second release to his label, Salted Music, where Joshua quickly became a dynamic part of the Salted family. Josh's Coldcuts Ep became a staple in record bags worldwide soon after its release in december 06'. He quickly followed up with the 'Funky like a Foot Ep' on DAE Recordings, which hit the streets of WMC 07' with a fury & 'Casafiesta' was dubbed one of the tracks of the conference. Josh's 2nd Salted release, the 'Turnin Tables EP' smashed up the house charts, and title track My Headphones became 1 in the Traxsource.com Best of 07 Jackin category. Joshua and Troydons collaborative project Quality Control took the 4 spot on that same list with a release on Drop Music.
2008 saw Joshua visit Europe and South America as well as the 1 spot on Stompy's Top 100 a few times; release several hot remixes & singles; sign music to HBO's smash hit 'ENTOURAGE'; and finally, close out the year with a Massive third release on Salted Music: The Writers Block Ep.
2009 has seen Joshua complete a successful world tour from London to Holland to Dubai, & release his first solo project on Drop Music: the Dirty 30 Ep. As a DJ, Joshua is a resident at LAs most prominent house night: Balance at club King King. He plays with the likes of Heather, Fred Everything, LCG, Farina and Miguel Migs. His musicality shines in the studio and behind the decks. Joshua loves nothing more than sharing the love and energy of each musical journey with an audience, and gratefully looks forward to each journey ahead.

Monkey Tennis 7th Birthday Winter Ball
Hello Possums
After a 6 month hiatus in the Tennis Wilderness we're back this June 13th with our 7th Birthday Winter Ball. It's seems a long time since we threw our first party at The Circa Bar in 2002. Since then we've spent most of the time staying over sleeping on the sofa at Candy's Apartment and then on to The Cross. In that time we've rubbed shoulders with some of the worlds best deep house international DJ's/producers, knocked up with Australias finest and had many a laugh. So for no particular reason we've decided to do something a bit different. In a departure from our usual nocturnal activities, we thought we'd mark the occasion with an outdoor day party.
Like when Federer and Agassi played each other on top of The Burj Al Arab, this June Monkey Tennis we will be nestled halfway up among the skyscrapers on the rooftop terrace of The Blacket Hotel. For those who have not been up there, this is a fantastic intimate space with a breathtaking aspect of the city and a perfect view of the stars. As we're approaching winter, there are countless heaters, and sliding roof should it rain. Fortunately Cliff Richards has been banned for life after being caught in a compromising position in the mens toilets by security last year. Play kicks off at 1pm and the last ball will be served at 11pm. There's only one rule...anyone who hits a ball over the side will have to get it themselves.
So, helping us annoy those that choose to do a bit of overtime in the office on a Saturday will be some of the local talent which have helped us rock Centre Court and Court One over the years:-

We missed her at The Cross, but we're delighted to welcome back MT songbird Kyla Sexton to help us blow out the candles.
Due to the capacity of the terrace (140), this is going to be an all ticket event. Early bird tix are now on sale at (Moshtix Link) at $30 plus booking fee, so get in quick and secure your place in the competition.
After Party
If you're still good after 5 sets, we'll be holding the after party at the newly refurbished Lady Lux. Currently closed for 6 weeks for renovation, the club will look completely different. Apart from a fantastic face lift, they're also dropping a Funktion 1 sound system under the hood. Those with a Monkey Tennis stamp will get in for $10 dollars. Unfortunately we can't guarantee entry (if it's full, it's full), but hopefully due to the finish time everyone should be fine.
So get your racket restrung, dust off your Dunlops and come and help us celebrate 7 years of Monkey Tennis this June 13th.
